Terms and Conditions of Trade

Acceptance

Goods are only supplied on the condition that the purchaser has read and fully accepted our terms of trading as detailed below. The placing of an order is deemed as confirmation that the customer has accepted our terms and conditions of sale.

New Accounts

All new customers are required to complete an account application form, supplying trade references. Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd only supplies to the trade. Once an account is open, the first three orders will be supplied on a pro forma basis. First orders should always reach or exceed our carriage paid amount of £285.00 excl. VAT and carriage.

Credit Accounts

All customers who require a credit facility should complete a credit application form. Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd reserves the right to refuse a credit account. In such cases, trading will be on a pro forma basis only.

Pro Forma Accounts

Once a pro forma order is placed, payment in full must be received within two weeks. If payment is not received within this period, the order will be cancelled. Goods will not be despatched until payment in full is received.

Payment

By cheque payable to "Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd", cash or BACS. We also accept payment by major credit and debit cards.

Payment Terms

Payment is required within 30 days from the date of invoice with the exception of pro forma customers. In the event of non-payment, Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd reserves the right to refer outstanding accounts to a third party collection agency or to take legal recourse.

Prices

All goods and services are subject to VAT at the current rate, except where zero rated. Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and are subject to alteration without prior notification.

Transit Losses and Discrepancies

When signing for deliveries, it is the customer's responsibility to indicate if the goods delivered are unchecked or damaged. This must be noted on the delivery driver's docket. Failure to do this will invalidate any claim for loss or damage. Loss or damage of goods must be notified to us within 2 days of receipt, quoting your account number and dispatch note number. Non-receipt of the entire consignment must be notified to us within 5 working days from the date of the invoice.

Retention of Title

The property of the goods shall not pass to any person or companies until all monies owed to Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd have been paid in full. The customer shall be entitled to sell the goods for and on behalf of the account of Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd and will retain all proceeds of such sales, in trust, for the company of Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd. Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd shall be entitled, at any time, to repossess the goods whether with or without notice and Stockshop (L.E.) and its employees or agents shall have the right to enter the premises of the customer for the purpose of effecting such repossession.

Return of Saleable Goods

Before returning goods to us, authorisation must be obtained from head office and a 15% handling charge will be levied against the returned goods. Please ensure that full documentation is included with the returned goods, detailing your account number, the despatch note number and the reason for the return. Wherever possible please use the Returns Form in the back of our catalogue to accompany the goods.

Faulty Goods

Where products are alleged to be faulty, Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd shall so far as possible pass on to the customer the benefit of any guarantee or warranty given by the manufacturer. Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd reserves the right to repair or replace any items found to be faulty. Where products are alleged to be faulty, the customer should first contact Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd. Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd does not accept responsibility for goods that customers decide to replace free of charge to their customers without prior consultation with Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd.

Risk

Notwithstanding anything contained in these Conditions, any goods supplied by Stockshop (L.E.) Ltd shall be at the customer's risk from the time of delivery to him or to any carrier or agent acting on his behalf.
